We had an amazing Sunday: great weather, happy Au-Pairs and Students, a joyful boat trip with @GapofDunloeTours (thanks a million!) and a picturesque hike through one of Irelands nicest National Parks.

It's about time to fish out your green clothes again! THE National holiday that is celebrated in more countries around the world than any other, St. Patrick's Day, or let's say - the day everyone wants to be Irish - is facing us again!
According to tradition, Patrick returned to Ireland to convert the pagan Irish to Christianity. Patrick's efforts to convert, subjugate, and drive off the Pagans (specifically the Celts) were eventually turned into an allegory in which he drove "snakes" out of Ireland. (Ireland never had any snakes!)
Tradition holds that he died on 17. March. Over the following centuries, many legends grew up around Patrick and he became Ireland's foremost saint. ... See more
